A German company has announced it has reached an agreement to buy the German multinational Viagra. The US company is expected to acquire the rights to Viagra in the US from the German entity in a strategic partnership. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2012, subject to customary closing conditions.
Under the terms of the agreement, the German entity will pay a $750 million fee for Viagra in return for a future license to Pfizer, a leading pharmaceutical company.
